After nearly 18 months the CIS DofE teams are back hiking again.
This weekend saw the first hike after nearly 18 months as the Bronze DofE team finally got to complete their practice journey. Despite the rainy weather, the team did an exceptional job in demonstrating their map reading, camp craft and cooking skills.
This was the first of two hikes they will need to accomplish their Bronze Level Award. Vivi, Daria, Lukas, Mishka, Greta, and Yana needed to prepare their own route plans and menus, organise their gear, get themselves to the start of the hike and demonstrate to our Award Assessor that they could fully accomplish this expedition independently….and they did.
Their next trip will be in September and we wish them all the very best of luck.
The DofE Award is an international youth programme that runs in 140 countries around the world and is designed to encourage young people to be resilient, self-reliant, and able to work independently yet also as part of a team. CIS has been running this programme for 6 years and is part of our commitment to providing our students with not only academic excellence but also the soft skills that lead to success.
