
Kaiserschmarren is a lightly sweetened pancake that takes its name from the Austrian emperor (Kaiser) Franz Joseph I, who was very fond of this kind of fluffy shredded pancake. It's served as dessert or as a light lunch.
Ingredients and measurements:
3 eggs
1/2 litres of milk
3 spoon of crystal sugar
a bit of salt
350g of flower
1 spoon of dried grapes0,1l of mineral water (You can use 1/2 soda bicarbonate bag), Powder sugar (for sprinkling)
Method- what to do:
Step 1: Separate the egg yolk from egg white.
Step 2: In a bowl, you whip the egg yolks with the sugar and salt.
Step 3: Add the flower, dried grapes, milk and the mineral water or the soda bicarbonate.
Step 4: You whip the egg whites until slightly stiff and add to the mass.
Step 5: You cover the pan with butter.
Step 6: Pour the mixture on the pan and leave it to bake. When the bottom part is hard, cut it into quarters then turn it around and cut it into pieces.
Step 7: Add syrup and plum compote.
