Peter K. and his experience in Fencing Slovak Championship

I started fencing when I was 10. Because of COVID, I lost some time of my training. In my first tournament, I ended almost last, but that didn't stop me from training.

I started fencing when I was 10. Because of COVID, I lost some time of my training. In my first tournament, I ended almost last, but that didn't stop me from training. Furthermore, it encouraged me to train harder. There was Slovak Championship in September. Finally, we could not just train, but also compete. Training without competitions is not so much fun.

Fencing clubs from all over Slovakia attended. It was exhausting because we were fencing two whole days, but it was very well worth it. I fence for Fencing Academy Club Bratislava. I was nominated in two categories: mine, the younger students, and one category above – older students. I was fortunate when my team won a bronze medal on the first day in the category of older students and even more lucky the next day when we won a silver medal in the younger students category. There will be several more tournaments this autumn, and I am looking forward to all of them.
