We interviewed an astronaut - here's what we found out

15.05.2020 | Written by Petra K., Y12S Student

As some of you may know, on Friday (May 15th 2020), a few lucky students were selected to attend a special video-conference with astrobiologist and director of HI-SEAS (Hawai’i Space Exploration Analog and Simulation) missions, Michaela Musilová.

The event was organised by the Outdoor Club and occurred via Skype. Miss Musilová opened with a presentation about her life, her studies and her career, after which the students were allowed to ask questions. We asked about various topics, ranging from science and Ms. Musilová’s research, to her personal experience with working at NASA and how she manages to balance her work and social life.

I would also like to thank Mr. Melia, who organised this amazing opportunity for us, Ms. Denisa, who supervised the whole event and made sure it all ran smoothly, Ms. Simona, who participated and contributed to the event with us, and, of course, Ms. Musilová, who took the time to chat with us and participate in this.

I thoroughly enjoyed the call and found it very useful and entertaining, as it made me think about my future studies and possible careers.

Please follow her journey HERE.
