David Roberts

Teacher of Biology

David took O-Levels and A-levels at schools in Lancashire, followed by a degree in Microbiology at Sheffield University. He completed a PhD in Medical Biochemistry at Manchester University and a PGCE at Oxford University. David worked in two different research jobs in Manchester between 1985 and 1991. Following this, he took a teaching post with Voluntary Service Overseas for two years in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. On his return to the UK, he taught Science in a comprehensive secondary school in Carlisle, Cumbria for 23 years. David now begins his third-year teaching Biology here at CIS and loves to share his wide scientific experience with is students. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, cycling and occasionally caving. He has a passion for the outdoors and exploring new places.
