Teacher of Geography
Andrew Funnell is originally from North Yorkshire in England, but moved to Nottingham to study a BSc in Environmental Science followed by a PGCE in Geography. He taught in Nottinghamshire for four years until he caught the travel bug on a backpacking trip around South America. He then moved to Qatar and spent five years teaching Geography, and was also the Head of year 10 and 11. He is a firm believer that every student should enjoy their education and have every opportunity to achieve. Mr Funnell aims to bring his travel experiences into his lessons as much as possible, and gains a lot of satisfaction when students can apply their learning to something they see outside of the classroom. He wants to use his subject to help young people appreciate the physical and human world around them, turning them into global citizens. In his free time he enjoys running, playing hockey, football and most other sports. He enjoys exploring Slovakia and the surrounding countries.
