A Legend is Born: The Wildest Week in the Life of FranCIS the Lion

They say that great things take time, and for the last 10 months, something truly "lion-sized" has been roaring behind the scenes at CIS.

Well, the secret is officially out! We didn't just change a logo; we welcomed a new member of the family. Let’s take a look back at the incredible, exhausting, high-fiving, hoop-shooting, utterly legendary debut week of FranCIS the Lion.

Monday: The Mega-Launch

We didn’t just unveil a new identity; we threw a party. Monday was all about the double reveal: our sophisticated new logo and our energetic new mascot. Our students arrived to special assemblies where the energy was electric. The crowd went wild as FranCIS made his grand entrance, perfectly accompanied by stellar performances from our School Band. Talk about setting the stage!

More than just a Big Cat (Why FranCIS?)

Before we get to his busy schedule, how did he get here? It took a 10-month journey—aided by the creative brilliant minds at GoBIGNAME —to distill our values into this single, Cambridge-inspired icon. FranCIS isn’t just a fuzzy face; he is a symbol of Resilience. He represents the inner strength, courage, and global spirit we strive to cultivate in every CIS student.

Tuesday & Wednesday: The "Spread Love" Tour

After his high-energy debut, FranCIS showed his softer side. He toured our Kindergartens, immediately spreading a wave of love, joy, and raw excitement. (Though we suspect he might have just been looking for snacks!)

The moments when he hugged our youngest students, high-fived the student council, and stopped for countless pictures with parents and staff were truly special. The consensus is clear: our community loves him.

Thursday: Paws, Hoops, and Goals!

FranCIS might be international (and historical!), but he’s still down-to-earth. He paid a special visit to our Year 2 students—rumor has it he’s looking into auditing some classes—and even made a surprise appearance on the sports field and in the gym.

Not only did he effortlessly shoot some hoops, but he also showed off some fancy footwork by kicking a football!

Friday: Greetings from Community Friday

FranCIS was at the gates, greeting our community, helping fundraising for a student cause, making sure everyone was offered a coffee or snacks prepared by our students

Saturday: The Grand Finale at Open Morning

After such a whirlwind week, you’d think FranCIS would be taking a nap. No way! He spent his Saturday morning at our Open Morning, standing tall at the gates to greet our guests and prospective families.Seeing him welcome new faces into our fold was the perfect end to an extraordinary week. He has proven that he isn’t just a mascot for a few days; he is a permanent, heart-warming member of our school.

The feedback has been overwhelming, the smiles have been priceless, and one thing is certain: FranCIS is here to stay.
