Changemakers Conference 2026 in Dusseldorf
By Charlotte Thompson
The Changemakers Conference 2026, held on 5-6th of March 2026 in Dusseldorf brought together young leaders from around the globe, all united by a single goal: making a meaningful impact both locally and globally.
Through a dynamic blend of keynote speakers, workshops, and networking sessions, our students had the opportunity to:
- Engage in workshops focused on social innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
- Learn from inspiring experts tackling the world’s most pressing challenges.
- Collaborate with peers from diverse cultures to exchange projects and ideas.
A true highlight of the event was the interactive "hackathon" style sessions. Working in teams to solve real-world problems, our students eventually took to the stage to present their action plans to an audience of over 350 people.
The experience provided learning that went far beyond the traditional classroom. Students gained deep insights into climate action, educational equality, and community development, while sharpening practical skills in communication and leadership. Equally valuable were the informal moments—conversations over coffee and spontaneous brainstorming with like-minded peers.
Our students stood out for their leadership, teamwork, and fearless attitudes. Here are just a few of their incredible achievements:
Tereza: Praised by keynote speakers for her inclusive leadership and "can-do" attitude, Tereza was personally invited to collaborate and present at an upcoming student leadership conference.
Nicol: Recognized by multiple workshop leaders for her critical thinking and inspiring storytelling. Supported by Tereza, Nicol presented our school’s final action plan to the entire conference delegation.
Luca: Described by the host school as a “light in the world,” Luca was noticed for his exceptional teamwork and his natural ability to encourage others to participate with confidence.
Alan: Fearless throughout the experience, Alan’s networking skills secured one-on-one time with keynote speakers and provided vital interviews for the students' creative project.
Nad’a: Recognized for her vision, Nad’a’s original idea became the foundation for the CIS action plan. Her ability to inspire peers to build upon her concepts was noted by both students and facilitators.
Asher: Celebrated for his independent thinking, Asher consistently brought fresh perspectives to discussions, showing courage in challenging the norm to shape more original solutions.
Andrej: Andrej showed a remarkable growth in confidence, becoming a valued contributor to large group discussions. His thoughtful listening and respect for others fostered a truly collaborative environment.
Laura: Identified by the former host school as a strong future presidential candidate, Laura was calm, collected, and supportive. She excelled at identifying the strengths of her fellow delegates and helping them flourish.
Arthur: Arthur played a vital role in mentoring younger students, helping them find their voices and participate creatively. His patience and adaptability were key to building a strong team spirit.
Chiara: Chiara brought an infectious energy to the conference, turning challenges into opportunities for learning. Her enthusiasm contributed significantly to lively discussions and creative problem-solving.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at ISD for their outstanding hospitality, warm welcome, and flawless organization. Their dedication created a truly transformative environment for all.
It is with absolute certainty we can say that the future of these Changemakers is bright—our world is in very safe hands.
