Alison Phaup

Head of Secondary School

Alison completed a Geography degree at the University of St. Andrews followed by teacher training at the University of Oxford. She has also completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship and, in recent weeks, has submitted her final dissertation for a MSc in Leadership at the University of Aberdeen. Her career has taken her from the UK to Cairo, Egypt and, more recently, Dilijan in Armenia. She has held various posts during her time in teaching including Form Tutor, Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head, with extensive experience in both the academic and pastoral fields.  Outside of school, Alison enjoys reading, listening to classical music and attending concerts where possible, as well as exploring the country where she is living. Having recently completed a second degree, she is currently looking for the next challenge in her ongoing education.

At CIS, Alison is Head of Secondary as well as delivering Geography and Project Based Learning courses and is responsible for the day to day management and educational leadership of the Secondary School as well as coordinating the work of the external examinations (CAIE) and University Guidance (UGO) teams.
