Kyle Michelsen
A decade ago, Kyle moved from the United States to Bratislava to experience life and education in Europe firsthand. What initially began as a new cultural and professional adventure gradually evolved into a long-term home, leading to years spent working within Bratislava’s international and bilingual school communities.
Kyle earned his degree in Finance and Economics from Salisbury State University and later pursued postgraduate studies in ESL Language Teaching at the University of Vermont. Working with students at different stages of academic development has helped shape an educational philosophy grounded in curiosity, communication, and strong classroom relationships.
He is passionate about helping young people strengthen critical-thinking skills while encouraging creativity, active participation, and confidence in their own ideas. He strongly values project-based approaches that promote independence, collaboration, and thoughtful engagement with the world around them. Coming from a family of educators and having been raised within the traditional New England boarding school environment, Kyle developed an early appreciation for the strong sense of community that can emerge beyond academics alone.
Outside of school, he enjoys sports, hiking, live music, and exploring different cultures. Travel has always been one of his greatest passions, leading him throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia during his years abroad.
