Philippa studied Geography and Psychology at the University of Leeds, England, before completing a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Greenwich. She taught Geography in England for 4 years, before moving to Bratislava where she has lived and worked for 13 years. With a Slovak husband. Bratislava is now Philippa’s home.
Over her career, Philippa has worked in both academic and pastoral senior leadership roles, and developed expertise in modern teaching pedagogy, safeguarding and student wellbeing. She believes that education should be holistic and personalised, developing both academic and interpersonal skills. As the Head of Secondary at CIS, Philippa will support every child to feel safe, happy, and valued, so they can be successful now and in their future.
Beyond teaching, Philippa enjoys crafts, sewing and other creative activities. She is also an avid reader and reads at least one book per week. She loves swimming and enjoys biking, and has recently challenged herself to start competing in triathlons.
